Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
At Prairie Ridge Elementary, we use Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to create a positive and effective learning environment. PBIS is a proven, three-tiered system that helps us improve and integrate all the data, systems, and practices that affect student outcomes. We focus on teaching clear expectations and reinforcing positive behavior, ensuring that every student feels supported and encouraged to SOAR every day.

Restorative Practices
At Prairie Ridge Elementary, we believe in the power of restorative practices to create a supportive and respectful school community. Restorative practices focus on building relationships, fostering a sense of belonging, and resolving conflicts in a constructive way.
Key Elements of Our Restorative Practices:
- Making It Right: When conflicts or issues arise, students are encouraged to make amends and repair any harm done. This helps them understand the impact of their actions and promotes empathy and understanding.
- Taking Ownership for Choices: Students are taught to take responsibility for their actions and the choices they make. By acknowledging their behavior and its consequences, they learn valuable life skills such as accountability and problem-solving.
Restorative practices empower students to learn from their mistakes, develop stronger relationships, and contribute positively to the school community. This approach helps create a nurturing environment where every student can thrive both academically and socially.
